One year

July 6, 2011

Do you get a icky feeling when someone says “Has it really been that long”? As I opened this dashboard it seemed unreal that over a year has passed since my last post. Maybe I need to consolidate the different blogs so they all look current. A year ago we were preparing for our first trip to Maui. It was a great focusing agent for us, and the dollars were coming in very well from our Ardyss Business.

This year, not so much. Oh, we are still earning good dollars from Ardyss, but we seem to be in a rebuilding mode with those business-minded people that truly want to achieve greater success.

Ho’Oponopono’- I love you. I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you. In conjunction with our bible studies, we are adding this to our successful actions for 2011. We are approaching 500,000 independent distributors in our downline, not all of which are active. And you are welcome to start your own Ardyss Business under us for $4.99 and a $100.00 order (wholesale, of course).

I have had some old friends find me on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/steve.martinez1) from high school and from Okinawa. Talk about a brain exercise. I think I might have strained it bit on the Okinawa memories. Admittedly, some of them are behind a sloe gin fizz buzz. AH, yes, memories.

SO a year has passed. I thank God for it, and pray for many more. You be blessed. Things are going to get better. Especially as we get closer to election day 2012. There’s going to be change in the White House.

Bye for now.

Streaming Praise Radio

June 11, 2010

Streaming Praise Radio. I just met this man on the phone this week. He gave Izzy an hour of his time while they discussed Ardyss America. Give his radio station a listen , and let him know you heard it hear. We are still about the truth. Clairmont Humphrey is a true man of God, and knows how to make things right. His station is ten years old. Send him a shout this weekend: clairmont@2ndchancepro.com.

I am collecting money to build 5 water wells in 5 Nigerian villages. You can help by sending donations to stemartinez@gmail.com. You will get a receipt from Olu Lawrence Ministries. Bishop Olu Lawrence, my friend, has built one well already. We’d like to build 5 more this year. Come to me all of you that thirst.

Thanks. -steve

Joe Biden on taxes you call it “redistribution of wealth” i call it “just being fair”: Tech Ticker, Yahoo! Finance

March 30, 2010

joe biden on taxes you call it “redistribution of wealth” i call it “just being fair”: Tech Ticker, Yahoo! Finance.

He who defines the words of the people, defines the future of the people.

Can America survive the current WH Administration? Of Course, she can. Some people will be harmed in the making of this new economy, but the majority will survive. And it is the majority that determine the direction. But a minority can divert a small to significant portion if played correctly.

Christian Militia: a misnomer.

Christians don’t need guns. They have prayer.

Tuesday Sketch

December 29, 2009

I’m trying to decide on the next canvas work. So, in the meantime, I practice sketching. Troulble is, not having taken a drawing class, I may be practicing incorrectly. I hope to remedy that this Spring at HCC.

Stars and Balloons

Guess I better sign up for that drawing class after all.

Adding Red

December 28, 2009

Here are the same four paintings plus one. Basically, all I’ve done is add red.

Cheap Black

December 27, 2009

These are four quick, cheap black acrylic on cheap gessoed 8 inch square canvases brush strokes. These works are intended to show quantity.

Less than ten minutes, I believe, but years of preparation.

Why, with the right names, the right contacts, they could be gold boy. Gold, I tell ya.

Body of Work

December 27, 2009

Creating a body of work means you have to paint something. After two semesters of painting without taking a drawing class, you would think a student artist to be humble enough to realize his/her shortcomings. But, no matter what you think, the student starts to enter every art competition, contact every art gallery and museum, and wonder why his/her art isn’t being bought at every opportunity. It’s a good thing he/she’s not selling. The student only has the ten class projects completed yet wonders why collectors aren’t beating a path to their door. HaH!

After my two classes, I am admiring the works of many Facebook Friends, opening Art books I’ve previously received, and studying, recognizing, and admiring the techniques of the Masters, and others gone by. I’m still struggling with Mark Rothko & Cy Twombly, but I’m surely becoming more aware of techniques, styles, and composition.

Come back next week to see if I have added to my “Body of Work”. You can be my critics, encouragers, teachers, students, observers, and, hopefully, friends. For, as far as I am concerned, it is your friendship that will do more to prop me up during those long painting sessions than any beverage or medicinal aid.

Take a drawing class!

A reason for drawing class

I think I love you. Well, I’m speaking by faith, not by sight.

Painterly habits

December 8, 2009

The results of Painting two, for me, were the development of certain habits. As I now look about the world, I find myself creating concepts, conceptualizing contrasts, and contrasting creations for future consideration. Magazines and old books are objects to be cut up, reused, re-purposed.
Is organizing your studio, a form of procrastination? Next project is still undetermined. There is a small possibility of a Drawing Class in January.
Thanks for your input.
